7th round

Mike White

Quarterback, Western Kentucky

The Bears brought in Mark Sanchez last year to mentor Mitchell Trubisky. This after the work he has done with Dallas Cowboys quarterback Dak Prescott in 2016. Chase Daniel signed to be the backup to Trubisky in 2018.

It gives Nagy a familiar face that can help Trubisky in the quarterback room. Tyler Bray is another guy that has played in Nagy’s system that’s also another voice in the room for Trubisky to get advice from.

With the little that I have seen of Daniel, I guess the guy that best resemble him among Bears fans is Brian Hoyer. A guy that is capable of running your offense effectively, but won’t do more than that. Bray has a little more arm talent than Daniel, but his decision-making is questionable. That more has to do with the lack of game experience.

The Bears can stand to add another arm in the group, and Mike White is one of the more underrated QB prospects in this draft. He has ideal size at 6-foot-4, 224 pounds with more than enough arm strength to go with it. He impressed during the Senior Bowl game, showing good accuracy and decision-making.

At best, White can develop into a career backup. There’s an outside chance that he can be a starter in the league if he lands in the right situation.
