Brandon Parker

Offensive tackle, North Carolina AT&T

If nothing else, the Chicago Bears offensive tackles played serviceably as a duo in 2017.

Charles Leno Jr. proved to be worth the contract extension that was given to him last offseason. Leno might not ever be a franchise level left tackle, but he’s at the very best an above average left tackle that you can win with.

Bobby Massie is a completely different story at right tackle. While he can be adequate at times, on the flip side he can be a liability as a pass blocker. I have to think that Pace hasn’t upgraded the position seemingly because there was none out there on the market.

Still, the Bears will likely have to look to the draft to find an eventual replacement. Brandon Parker name is gaining steam in draft circles. He has the prototypical size for an offensive tackle at 6-foot-7, 314 pounds to go with very long arms.

As far as technique is a concern, Parker is very raw and will take some time to develop. Getting him with an established offensive line coach in Harry Hiestand that can coach him up for a couple years would be ideal. Parker has the physical tools to be a left tackle at the next level, but with patience and the right teachers around him, you could have a solid starter on the line.
