2nd round

Billy Price

Guard, Ohio State

The Chicago Bears right now have a glaring hole at right guard with the release of Josh Sitton this offseason. They have Eric Kush to fall back on, who can play at either three interior line positions. However, it might be more fitting for the team that Kush is the backup swing interior linemen.

They also invested a fifth-round pick last year in Jordan Morgan, who Pace seems to be high on. It’s quite the risk to go into camp with Kush and Morgan as your guys battling it out for the starting right guard spot. Pace knows he has to address this position in the draft, if not in the first then in the second round.

Quenton Nelson is hands down the best interior line prospect in this draft and might be the best offensive lineman prospect in this draft. Ohio State’s Billy Price might not be that far behind as one the draft’s best offensive line prospects. The one thing that stands out with Price when you watch his film is that he plays with an edge.

If there’s one of the main things you want out of your offensive linemen is for them to play with a mean streak. Price also displays top technique from his hand placement to his knee bend and fluid hips. He also shows the ability to drive block defenders off the line of scrimmage.

Price has starting experience at both guard and center. With Cody Whitehair having that same versatility, it would give the Bears the option to put Whitehair at offensive guard and insert Price in the middle at center. Giving the Bears a young talented interior line for years to come when you include Kyle Long.
