Chicago Bears Free Agency: 7 potential second wave value signings
By Ryan Heckman
DT Bennie Logan
Speaking of bargains, Bennie Logan might be the bargain of all bargains if he can return to his 2016 form. Last year with the Kansas City Chiefs, Logan took a step back. He finished as the 94th ranked defensive lineman out of a possible 122 in Pro Football Focus’ 2017 grades.
Two seasons ago, Logan was the second overall ranked defensive lineman against the run. In 2015, Logan finished inside the top five in overall defensive stops, again according to PFF. The 28-year-old played his first four seasons with the Eagles before signing a one-year deal with the Chiefs last year.
The former LSU standout was drafted in the third round by Philadelphia in 2013 and became a household name with the Eagles. With plenty of football left in the tank, Logan might have something to prove as he is coming off a prove-it deal in which he seemingly failed. The Chiefs still have not brought him back, therefore just how impactful was he a season ago?
The connection with he and Nagy cannot go overlooked, either. He might have an “in” there and Nagy could persuade Pace to host the big man. Logan is still regarded as a solid play against the run and would fit in well under Fangio. With a scheme that likes to feature a healthy rotation, Logan would be guaranteed to stay relatively fresh.
