Having locked up Fuller and Prince Amukamara, the Bears now need to add depth. They tendered restricted free agent Bryce Callahan, but nothing is set in stone just yet. Once again, talent and depth at every position is the key here.

E.J. Gaines has yet to sign with a team although he has most recently visited the Arizona Cardinals. A lot of the time, if a team is seriously interested in a player, you will not see that player leave town without a deal. Gaines has not agreed to a deal as of now.

Gaines might be a risky bet due to only breaking out last season. In 2016, Gaines was downright awful — however, many of us were ready to see Fuller given the boot and now look at the guy. According to Pro Football Focus, Gaines went from an overall grade of 37.0 in 2016 to 86.6 last year.

In 2017, Gaines defended nine passes, forced three fumbles, picked off a pass and came away with 48 tackles. He played a total of 11 games, starting each of them. The 26-year-old seems as though he is looking to cash in, but his market may not have been as strong as he had hoped.

If Pace wants depth, once again, Gaines is worth a look. Depending on future offers, he might be there for the taking at a relatively decent price.
