The Chicago Bears are still a ways off from playing a regular season football game in 2018. But that doesn’t mean we can’t make a few big predictions about what will happen when they do.

“Man, it’s way too early to start projecting things for the Chicago Bears” is what you probably want to tell me right now.

And that might be true.

After all, the Bears likely haven’t made all their free agent signings yet. We could still see a few more people coming to the team in this next wave.

The team hasn’t selected anyone in the 2018 NFL Draft or even on a quarter of the Pro Days and interviews they plan to take part in over the month leading up to it.

Training camp doesn’t start until July. The season doesn’t start until September. Yeah, yeah, yeah.

The new direction of the Chicago Bears has people pumped right now, so why not talk about it while everyone still has optimism?

After all, we know how quickly that can run out around here.

Now, you won’t find me predicting that the Bears will win the Super Bowl this year. I’m making bold predictions, not takes so hot that you’ll need medical treatment immediately.

That said, both the team and some individual Bears have chances to do special things in 2018. And with the franchise trending in a truly positive direction for the first time in a while, they might actually have a shot at reaching some of these goals.

And if they do, the ultimate goal of making the Chicago Bears relevant again will follow right along with them.

Here are a few predictions for this upcoming season, as bold as I feel like making them for now. I’m sure we’ll do this again as the summer goes on.
