10. KR/PR Devin Hester

There are so many out there who would give me grief over putting Devin Hester in the top 10 players in franchise history. However, when you consider he is the greatest of all-time at his true position, the argument really cannot be made otherwise.

Hester came into the NFL as a raw cornerback prospect, but the Bears soon found out that he would spend most of his time on special teams. While the majority of players would rather start on offense or defense as opposed to special teams, Hester was one of the rare talents who was suited best in that phase.

The former Miami Hurricane was one of the first players who teams purposely decided not to kick or punt the ball toward. If they did, chances are he would make them pay.

His very first touchdown was one Bears fans will never forget. Week one against the Green Bay Packers back in 2006, in his very first regular season game, Hester took back a punt 84 yards to the house en route to a 26-0 shutout for the Bears.

One of his brightest moments as a pro also came in his rookie season when he took back the opening kickoff of Super Bowl XLI for a touchdown in a game the Bears ended up losing to the Indianapolis Colts. Still, fans watching that game will never forget the feeling Hester gave them with such an exhilarating moment.

Hester went on to score an NFL-record 20 total return touchdowns and should be a sure-fire Hall of Fame inductee someday. There may never have been a more electric player with the ball in his hands, therefore Hester belongs right up here among the top 10 Bears to ever play the game.
