With the New York Jets moving up in the draft to take a quarterback, the possibility that four passers go in the top 10 just spiked. And the Chicago Bears could benefit hugely from that.

Two Chicago Bears-related thoughts immediately ran through my head upon seeing that the New York Jets traded up three spots, from No. 6 to No. 3 overall, to ostensibly draft their quarterback of the future in the 2018 NFL Draft.

First, while the situations and drafts are obviously different, I wonder if anyone looks more favorably on Ryan Pace’s Mitch Trubisky trade last year after seeing what the Jets had to give the Indianapolis Colts.

Though people thought moving up a spot was crazy for the Bears last year, at least they didn’t have to give up three second-round picks.

Also, and far more importantly: someone really good is going to fall to the Chicago Bears at No. 8 overall. And I can’t wait to know who it will be.

More from Chicago Bears

At this point, at least three quarterbacks will go in the top 10 of the 2018 NFL Draft. And knowing how things look when quarterbacks start coming off the board, they’re going to go fast. In fact, one can almost guarantee all four quarterbacks will be gone before the Bears pick at No. 8.

Josh Rosen and Sam Darnold are virtual locks. Baker Mayfield‘s red flags won’t be enough to dissuade teams from taking his fiery, “winning” personality and big talent. And someone is going to fall for Josh Allen. They just won’t be able to help themselves.

Should those things come to pass, it will definitely help the Bears, though.

In particular, who’s most likely to fall to the Chicago Bears at No. 8 overall in the 2018 NFL Draft? And, if they do fall to the Bears, will they take that player or go another route?
