Chicago Bears: 5 incredible catches throughout Allen Robinson’s career
By Ryan Heckman
Robinson put the world on notice that he didn’t need to play by the rules at Penn State.
I always find it impressive when collegiate receivers show just how ready they are for the pros by ignoring the one-foot rule. Robinson seemingly always attempted to get both feet in bounds whenever making a catch near the sideline, and this one was no different.
In a game Penn State ended up losing, it was not for lack of effort by their stud wideout. Down by 10 late in the fourth, Hackenberg and company weren’t about to throw in the towel just yet. On a simple fade route, Robinson went up to make a highlight-reel type of catch for the score.
It appears we have a theme with Robinson, and that theme is the consistent attempt by defensive backs to hold or grab him. On several of his career-best catches, he is either held, shoved or grabbed by a corner or safety — and still makes the catch.
In this contest, Robinson did everything possible to help his team win. He finished with nine catches for 143 yards and that stunning touchdown grab. If you look at the box score from this one, you’ll notice that not a single player other than Robinson ended with over 30 yards receiving — and Robinson topped it by over 100.

If you get anything out of watching these highlights, I hope you understand this: Robinson is in fact a matchup nightmare, like many people have said recently. He and Trubisky will be making these kinds of plays for years to come — and I can’t wait.
