The Chicago Bears look a lot different after the last few days. We take a look at five key takeaways from free agency’s first wave.

If you’re a Chicago Bears fan, you know by now what this week has meant to the team. It’s been quite some time since we’ve seen the Bears make such significant moves in free agency, and boy has it been a fun ride.

Consider this your first reminder that we are far from finished, but let’s sit back and enjoy this first wave — we deserve it.

Ryan Pace has dug his feet in and come out swinging this week, bringing in the biggest name among wide receivers in Allen Robinson. In the same day, he agreed to terms with arguably the most sought after tight end in free agency, Trey Burton.

Pace then addressed the kicking woes which have gone on for multiple seasons now, by snatching up 26-year-old Cody Parkey from the Miami Dolphins. Once again, in the same few hours, Pace gave Mitchell Trubisky another weapon in speedster Taylor Gabriel, formerly of the Atlanta Falcons.

Like I said, it’s been a ride, that’s for sure. We’re a year removed from one of the most forgettable offseasons in recent memory, so feel free and soak it in. I’m here to catch you up to speed with just what exactly this first wave has meant to the team. Buckle up and get ready to ask yourself, “Is it September yet?”
