The Bears now have two of the fastest, most elusive playmakers in the entire NFL.

Ryan Pace has been a busy man. He has been locking down his free agent targets quicker than any other general manager in the league on Tuesday. It started with Allen Robinson. Then, Trey Burton agreed to terms.

Now, the Bears just got themselves another explosive weapon in Taylor Gabriel.

The ex-Falcons receiver has proven he can do some damage in the right offensive system. Now, teaming up with Matt Nagy, he will do the same.

In 2016, under Kyle Shanahan, Gabriel averaged 16.5 yards per reception and caught six touchdowns. Shanahan brought a different style to the Falcons’ offense and used Gabriel in the most creative ways he had experienced over his four-year career.

Gabriel is one of the more elusive receivers in the league, and when used correctly, he explodes for the big play.

He is fantastic on screens, yes, but he also has the ability to run very concise routes. You might remember the broken ankles of Malcom Butler last season — go look that one up. Gabriel, at times, can make it look like there never was any coverage. He creates an opening in his route so easily every once and a while, and takes off.

Now, Gabriel gets to team up with last year’s rookie sensation Tarik Cohen. Everybody knows what Cohen can do with the ball in his hands. Whether it’s in the open field or not, Cohen has the ability to take it to the house at any given moment.

The scary part about this kid, is that his former offensive coordinator and head coach failed to realize he needed to be on the field in order to make plays. Interesting how that works, huh?

He isn’t just a speed and agility guy, though. Cohen is as strong as they come, even at 5’6”.

Cohen and Gabriel get to be on the field — together — under an offensive mind that had his former team ranked fifth overall in 2016.

The Bears have Jordan Howard in the backfield. They now have Robinson as a true number one wide receiver — a real threat. Burton comes in as a legitimate, do-it-all tight end who runs routes like a receiver.

Oh, and they have Gabriel and Cohen at their disposal also?

Nagy is about to cook something up real good for these two in 2018. Watch out.
