Chicago Bears Free Agency: Day two recap, day three preview
By Ryan Heckman
With the moves the Chicago Bears made on Tuesday, is their offense ready to take flight?
Ryan Pace has been going absolutely bonkers in free agency. This is not something fans of the Chicago Bears are used to, but believe me, they’re happy.
The day started early as it was announced that former Jaguars wide receiver Allen Robinson has decided to join the Bears on a three-year deal. Later, the Bears agreed to terms with former Eagles tight end Trey Burton.
If you are familiar with the Bears even in the least, you know kicking has been a rollercoaster for a couple of seasons. Pace also took care of that by signing Cody Parkey on Tuesday.
Following the Parkey deal, Pace wasn’t done as he added former Falcons speed demon Taylor Gabriel.
Adding such weaponry to an offense that already features a loaded backfield with Jordan Howard and Tarik Cohen means the Bears are no longer a joke. Having a coaching staff featuring Matt Nagy, an innovative play-caller, and now giving him weapons, is sure to pay dividends.
It has felt like a historic day for the Bears. It’s been quite some time since fans were this excited over free agency. Let’s take a deeper look at just exactly how much better the Bears became in one day.
