1. QB Mike Glennon

I don’t really even know how to put this into words. The Mike Glennon signing was altogether the worst free agency signing for the Bears that I have had the misfortune to be alive for.

There was absolutely nothing Pace could point to on tape that would lead anybody to believe he was worthy of being a starting quarterback in the National Football League. Yet, not only would Pace anoint Glennon the day-one starter, but it would be announced after giving him one of the worst contracts ever handed out by Chicago.

Pace agreed to sign Glennon to a three-year, $45 million contract. The positive, here, is that Glennon was only kept around for one of those three seasons — Pace admitted his mistake a week and a half ago and noted the Bears would be moving on.

Still, Glennon got away with $18.5 million after playing in just four games for the Bears. He threw four touchdowns, five interceptions and lost three fumbles in those four contests. Of course, he saved his worst overall rating for Chicago and combined for a 76.9 quarterback rating over that month.

It was a breath of fresh air for fans to see Trubisky finally take the reigns, although I’m not sure we will ever be able to forgive and forget that embarrassing mishap of free agency 2017.
