Update: Watkins will reportedly sign with the Chiefs.
Sammy Watkins is also a target for Pace and the Bears.
What we know: Multiple sources have confirmed the Bears’ interest.
What we don’t know: Are the Packers bluffing at this point?
Yes, I said the Packers. According to Rapoport, Green Bay also has interest in Watkins. It’s a sad, cold world we live in as Bears fans — unless it’s simply not true.
Watkins was said to have been given the franchise tag by the Rams by this point, but instead they chose Lamarcus Joyner. Los Angeles is still in the running for Watkins’ services, but now that he has hit the open market, the Rams may be a day late and a dollar short on that idea.
Also via Rapoport on NFL Network Monday afternoon, Watkins’ decision could come down to targets. We saw what happened to him with the Rams while in Sean McVay’s offense. He struggled to see the number of targets he was accustomed to seeing back in his Buffalo days.
Bears obviously will be linked to most of the high profile FA wide receivers given their glaring need at the position. Does sound like Bears are among teams to have expressed interest in Sammy Watkins since league-wide negotiating window opened.

If targets are indeed an issue for Watkins, the Bears might be a perfect fit, seeing as they don’t have a lot of options at this point anyway. Trubisky needs a target, and Watkins needs targets. It seems only logical at this point.
