With the legal tampering period beginning on Monday, the Chicago Bears went to work. We look at the moves made and what moves might be made shortly.

This has been one of the more memorable lead-up weeks to free agency in recent memory. The Cleveland Browns made headlines on Friday with multiple trades, turning heads all over the league. For the Chicago Bears, fans now expect nothing less than aggression by their general manager Ryan Pace.

Monday, the legal tampering period indeed opened up — meaning, teams can begin negotiating with players and agents but cannot make deals official until Wednesday afternoon.

To begin with, Pace had some of his own guys to make decisions on. Spoiler alert — not all of them will be back with Chicago in 2018. Secondly, there was a pretty significant trade on Monday afternoon that will affect the Bears in the upcoming NFL Draft.

To add even more intrigue, the Bears were a hot team among the rumor mill Monday afternoon. Some of the league’s top insiders reported Pace and company being big time players for some of the top free agents available this year.

Monday was only the beginning to what will be a hectic offseason for the Bears. The good news is, all indications point to the craziness being nothing but positive.
