Sign Allen Robinson

Chicago Bears fans throughout Twitter spent Saturday lamenting the fact that the Cleveland Browns, not Bears, traded for former Miami Dolphins receiver Jarvis Landry.

As far as I’m concerned, they can have him.

As much cap space as they have, trading for players with the hundreds of picks they’ve seemingly acquired was probably the only way they could bring top talent to their team. What do they have to lose?

Because the Bears actually have their quarterback of the future already and have the core of a contender in place already, why mortgage your future when you don’t have to?

Besides, Allen Robinson, the best receiver on the market, is still available. And Ryan Pace, as I hear it, will fork over the money to bring him in.

Furthermore, San Francisco spending money to keep Marquise Goodwin in town and lure Richard Sherman to the Bay help the Bears.

Though San Fran still has money enough to sign someone like Robinson, the Chicago Bears can pitch that he’s their top priority and that they can easily pay him the $15-16 million he’ll likely want.

And trust me, a healthy Robinson is worth that more so than Landry or any other receiver on this market.

Plus, Mitch Trubisky and Robinson just seem like a quarterback-receiver tandem made in heaven.

Bringing in someone like Albert Wilson and/or Paul Richardson will feel hollow if the Bears can’t nab Robinson.
