From grabbing a top wide receiver in free agency to stockpiling draft picks, here’s what an ideal 2018 Chicago Bears offseason could look like.

The start of NFL free agency (unofficially, anyway) is mere hours away. The 2018 NFL Draft is coming in little more than a month. And when those things are over, Chicago Bears fans will finally get a glimpse of what will hopefully be a truly competitive 2018 team.

The Bears have so many needs that neither free agency nor the draft will be enough on their own to fix things. They need to hit in both areas, starting with free agency.

The time certainly is ripe for Ryan Pace to make his first big moves in free agency.

One could understand why he didn’t bother spending too much money with John Fox at the helm the last few seasons (especially last year). And even when he did open up the pocketbook, as he did with A.J. Bouye, the Bears weren’t good enough to attract good players anyhow.

Arguably, you can’t make that excuse anymore.

Everyone saw how solid the Chicago Bears defense was last year. Everyone has seen Mitch Trubisky play and knows that he has some game, even if he had no help last year. And with Matt Nagy at the helm, this team should be exciting.

Plus, the Bears have all the cap space you could want to pay people big money.

And obviously, if they make the moves they need to there, the draft becomes easier.

Let’s take a look at what the ideal Chicago Bears offseason might look like. Obviously, this is just one man’s opinions. Feel free to leave your own.
