1. Patrick Robinson

I am going against my usual rule this offseason of not going after guys over the age of 30, but Patrick Robinson is a special case — not to mention he will be one year over that threshold by week one of 2018.

In 2017, Patrick Robinson found a home with the Philadelphia Eagles and was a key part of their Super Bowl run. If for some reason the Bears cannot bring back Callahan, Robinson is a guy I’d like to see Pace go after. He might be 30 years old, but didn’t show any signs of slowing down a year ago.

Robinson made a living around the football last year. He finished the season with a whopping 18 passes defended — that’s incredible. He also intercepted four passes. Robinson did all of this as mainly a slot cornerback which makes this even more impressive. Knowing what the Bears have lacked over the last two or three years, Robinson fits the bill perfectly. Chicago needs guys who are constantly around the ball.

The former first round pick and Florida State Seminole is becoming even further proof that his alma mater continues to crank out stout defensive backs year after year. It may have taken Robinson a little while to fully blossom, but what he did a year ago can’t be denied.

Being a Super Bowl champion and one of the best slot corners in football in 2017 will likely mean that Robinson is in line for a decent amount of money included in his next contract. The Bears have plenty of money to spend, still, and if they are serious about shoring up depth at corner, Robinson could be a target.
