3. Big Game Experience

Sherman has been around long enough to know how the game is played when it matters most. He has appeared in 12 career playoff games with the Seahawks, and led a pretty impressive stretch over his first eight.

Sherman has played in two career Super Bowls and he’s not even 30 years old. Knowing how to play on the biggest stage would be key, since the Bears’ defense lacks many of those guys. Sherman could be a fantastic person for all the younger guys to learn from. His experience would pay dividends when it comes to guys like Eddie Jackson, Adrian Amos as well as Fuller.

Having played against the two greatest quarterbacks of all-time in the biggest sporting event in the world is not something that should be taken lightly. Sherman played well and fought hard against both Peyton Manning and Tom Brady. He was certainly not a reason the Seahawks lost to Brady and the Patriots, and absolutely a reason why they manhandled the Broncos.

Last year, his Seahawks missed the playoffs and Seattle looked as though they were unraveling as a team. It is tough to score points when you have no run game and cannot protect your quarterback. Unfortunately for Seattle, Sherman couldn’t affect either of those.

Sherman is a four-time All Pro, three of those being first team accolades. He is a four-time Pro Bowler. There is no reason to think he is anywhere close to being done as an elite, experienced corner in the NFL.
