4. Fierce Competitor
I will be the first to admit, when first I saw the interview above — and I witnessed it as it happened — I was a bit skeptical about Sherman. I thought he might have crossed the line. I assumed he was just arrogant. I nearly had my mind up that I just plain didn’t like him.
But then it hit me.
Sherman was arrogant, sure. True, he probably did cross the line. But, did the Bears have a cornerback even close to that caliber at the time? Absolutely not. As a fan, would I have killed to see Sherman on the Bears? I’d be lying if I said no.
So, there it is. I’m a fan.
Sherman’s personality comes through more than ever when he’s pushed to the limit. If he’s challenged, he steps up to that challenge and won’t ever consider backing down. He brings a swagger to the field that few can match — and that’s desirable.
With Sherman, you know what you’re getting every time he steps on the field — every ounce of his effort. You can measure a lot when it comes to on-field statistics, speed, quickness, athleticism, etc. But, you cannot measure the desire to compete.
If I had my choice between Sherman or the often-compared Patrick Peterson, give me Sherman in a heartbeat — and it’s not close. No, seriously. It’s not.

Apparently not everybody knows how to read, thus the man above’s choice to go with Peterson in this debate.
Regardless, I’ll take Sherman please — in a Bears uniform. Make it happen, Mr. Pace.
