If you have been following our material here at Da Windy City recently, you know I like me some Christian Kirk. The Texas A&M star is one of the favorites among wide receivers for practically every analyst out there — and for good reason.

Kirk had himself a very well-rounded combine. He ran well on his 40-yard dash. He posted an impressive vertical, especially for a guy at just 5’11”. His broad jump, again, was very good for his height. But, the most impressive part of his day to me was his gauntlet drill.

Just look at how natural he is at catching the football. It is effortless — absolutely effortless. Maybe it’s just being a Bears fan that does this to you, but my goodness, I’d love to see someone like that in the navy and orange.

The fact of the matter is, Mitchell Trubisky needs someone like Kirk. Whether it’s he or a guy like Jarvis Landry, Trubisky needs someone who will catch the football — period.

One of the best traits about Kirk is that he is arguably the most multi-dimensional wide receiver out there this year. The kid has scored in all types of ways, and done it consistently.

Kirk not only caught touchdowns, but earned them on special teams as well — seven of them, to be exact. He averaged a ridiculous 21 yards per punt return over his college career as well. Like I’ve said before, that is unreal.

It’s really tough for me right now if Kirk or Moore are there for the Bears in the second round. If either happen to miraculously fall to the third, it’s a no-brainer. But, between those two I think it’s going to be a toss up if that ends up being the decision for Pace.

The skillsets from both of these guys are phenomenal and would easily fit right in with what Nagy is going to do. I suppose we will just have to wait until April to see how it all unfolds.
