The Chicago Bears are working on a trade that could send Jordan Howard to Miami for Jarvis Landry? Are you in, Bears fans?

It sounds like the Jarvis-Landry-to-Chicago-Bears trade rumors have some legs.

Apparently, as you’ll be pleased to know, the Miami Dolphins and Bears have discussed swapping their No. 8 overall pick for Landry and a third-round pick.

That said, Chicago Bears fans might not be terribly thrilled with the other asset the team is thinking of giving up for Landry.

According to NBC Sports Chicago’s Moon Mullin, the Bears are considering sending the Dolphins Pro Bowl running back Jordan Howard.

I bet that’s not what you had in mind, is it?

I won’t lie to you: part of me would just bask in the unfettered chaos of Bears Nation at this move.

People have been clamoring for weeks and months for the team to get Jarvis Landry in Chicago, whether through free agency or trade.

Sign him for $15+ million a year? Do it. Trade two draft picks to the Dolphins? No doubt you make that move, right?

Landry is a difference-making wide receiver who will give you 100 catches a year and help Mitch Trubisky. He never misses a game. He brings toughness and a veteran presence to the locker room. By any means necessary, get this guy here!

Well, would you be able to accept the Chicago Bears giving up a guy that you love in Jordan Howard?

Now, we all value what Howard brings as a pure runner of the football. Few backs in the league run as tough and determined as he does.

However, Matt Nagy and the Bears’ coaching staff reportedly have concerns about Howard’s struggles with catching the football, believing that he could hamper their offensive scheme if he gets the lion’s share of the snaps.

By contrast, guys like Charcandrick West, Spencer Ware and Kareem Hunt played huge roles as receivers in Nagy/Andy Reid’s scheme. If Howard can’t do that, can they work with him in a West Coast/spread offense?

Clearly, they have their doubts.

If the Bears did trade Howard, that obviously opens up a vacancy that the Bears would attack in free agency and via the draft. Still think those Saquon Barkley thoughts are crazy?

But even so, guys like Dion Lewis will be on the market, plus the Bears can target a lead back on Day 2-3 in the draft (which is far more likely). I mean, they found a Pro Bowler in the fifth round in 2016. It’s not as if they can’t do it again.

Truthfully, though, I’m just here for the madness. How will Bears fans cope with getting the guy they always wanted while giving up a fan favorite?

Remember two things here: 1. sometimes, you have to give to get; and 2. be careful what you wish for. You might get your guy in Landry only to lose your fan favorite. That’s business.
