Chicago Bears: Report says Jordan Howard, Jarvis Landry trade offer on the table
By Ryan Heckman
The NFL Combine is always home to plenty of rumors as owners, general managers and coaches convene to evaluate the next generation of talent. The Chicago Bears and Miami Dolphins may turn a Jordan Howard-for-Jarvis Landry rumor into reality soon enough.
While everyone is out evaluating the top talent in this year’s 2018 NFL Draft class, owners and general managers are also busy keeping their phones nearby. Trade rumors have been swirling around Miami Dolphins wide receiver Jarvis Landry, and the Chicago Bears might just have a deal in place. Leaving for Miami, though, would be Jordan Howard.
It started as just a rumor early Saturday morning, but things have picked up steam quite a bit as of late. Bears guard Kyle Long seemed upset about something this afternoon and took to Twitter to vent.
Long followed this tweet up with a reply to a fan asking him about a potential deal involving Howard. Seems as though Long knows something we don’t.
Long wasn’t the only one hinting at a trade between Miami and Chicago. Even an official NBC Sports Chicago report announced there were talks going on.
To top it off, a third source within an hour actually confirmed that this offer has been laid out on the table.
This is not just a rumor anymore, folks. This is the real thing. Bears fans could soon be waving goodbye to their stud running back and welcoming in a record-setting wide receiver. There are many emotions running through your head, I’m sure.
On one hand, the Bears would lose a back-to-back 1,000 yard rusher in Howard. On the other, they gain a wideout who does nothing except catch nearly everything thrown his way in Landry. It would be a tough pill to swallow, but who knows, maybe it works out in the Bears’ favor?
Next: Would Bears actually sacrifice Howard for Landry?
Although a deal is not done as of right this moment, it sure looks like it could happen very shortly. Stay tuned, as we will keep you up to date on this developing story as we know more.
