Chicago Bears: Jarvis Landry rumors are about to pick up steam
By Ryan Heckman
The Chicago Bears are seeking wide receiver help. One of the top wideouts in football might just find himself in the windy city.
Jarvis Landry has done nothing but make plays since entering the league four years ago. The Miami Dolphins stud wide receiver has made a name for himself by doing one thing better than just about anyone else: catch the football.
Meanwhile, the Chicago Bears have been looking for someone who can do that ever since Alshon Jeffery and Brandon Marshall departed. The Bears have been near the bottom of the barrel in terms of receiver production and have also been riddled by injuries.
To no surprise, Landry was just granted permission by the Dolphins to seek out a potential trade partner. If I am Ryan Pace, I have already gotten on the phone to discuss a deal.
It is well-documented here at Da Windy City that we love what he brings to the table. His 100-catch average over the first four years of his career is an NFL record — and it’s not close.
Chicago simply needs a guy who can separate on his routes and secure the catch. It seems like a no-brainer for any average receiver, but with the NFL getting much quicker and stronger overall, it’s tougher and tougher to find these days.
Now, the Bears take this to an entirely different level. Their wide receiver core is just plain awful.

Kevin White and Cameron Meredith have struggled with health as of late, and the former has questions surrounding whether he will be able to endure the length of one full season at all during his career.
Beyond those two, the biggest name on the roster is Kendall Wright. Many argue that Wright is the same type of guy as Landry, and if the Bears fail at making a trade happen, he will be back to fill that gap.

In any event, I would not be surprised to learn of furthering talks between the Bears and Dolphins in the near future. Pace has been aggressive in the early stages of this offseason, and I don’t see that trend slowing down anytime soon.
