Brown NFL.com Draft Profile

If there’s a surprise Ryan Pace pick in this group, Brown would be it.

As far as overall prospects go, the Oklahoma offensive tackle ranks as among the most intriguing.

First, let’s start with the fact that he’s absolutely monstrous at 6-foot-8 and somewhere north of 340 pounds. Not many men can potentially make Akiem Hicks look small, but he can definitely accomplish that.

And his unteachable size and length give him the ability to stone big guys and keep smaller pass-rushers at bay even without great technique.

Some of his technique issues he can’t do that much about. At that size, his ability to bend with pass-rushers and move laterally with quickness is limited.

But some of the lunging and over-aggressiveness as well as the hand technique issues, which could lead to holding penalties? That kind of stuff Harry Hiestand can work with him on.

This, though?

Nah. Not everyone can just do that.

All in all, you have to be looking at Brown and immediately think that he could start at right tackle Day 1. He just wants to destroy everything in his path, and at that size, you can just turn him and Long loose on the right side and watch Jordan Howard run for 100 yards every game.

At least, that’s how it looks in my head.

If Brown wows people at the Combine (let’s face it, if he moves with anything resembling grace, he will), he could turn into a top 10 pick. And if you guys don’t like the idea of drafting a guard in the top 10, maybe you’d prefer a beastly tackle instead.
