Chicago Bears draft profile: Iowa CB Josh Jackson
If the Chicago Bears want a cornerback with shutdown-type upside in the 2018 NFL Draft, Iowa’s Josh Jackson might be their man.
Arguably the most fun thing about the 2018 NFL Draft for the Chicago Bears is that they have so many pressing needs that they could conceivably take any number of players No. 8 overall.
They definitely need an edge rusher, a void that could be filled by Tremaine Edmunds or Marcus Davenport.
If they want an offensive lineman, they might have the opportunity to draft the best one in this draft, Quenton Nelson, in the top 10.
The Bears could also take a receiver, like Calvin Ridley, or one of the top-rated corners coming out this season in Denzel Ward.

In particular, the Chicago Bears still need to add at least one more starting-caliber corner this offseason, assuming they re-sign Kyle Fuller.
However, while Ward might be the top corner in the 2018 NFL Draft class at the moment, one player could overtake him in the coming weeks and become a viable option for the Bears inside the top 10.
That player is Iowa cornerback Josh Jackson, a true ball-hawking cover man with a knack for getting his hands on footballs.
An instinctual playmaker with remarkable ball skills, Jackson has the potential to grow into a shutdown outside corner. And given the impact of young players like Marshon Lattimore and Jalen Ramsey against increasingly more dangerous receivers, don’t put it past Ryan Pace to try to get a man like that of his own in the 2018 NFL Draft.
