Chicago Cubs: Three things to watch in Spring Training opener
What should Chicago Cubs fans watch out for as Spring Training, and hopefully another playoff campaign, opens today for the North Siders?
Have no fear, everyone: Chicago Cubs baseball is back everyone.
Chicago should at least have one team actually wins this season (though we’ll see about the new-look Bears in the fall). And no that they’ve gotten the World Series hangover monkey off of their backs, I think we’ll see a rejuvenated, locked-in Cubs team out of the gate this year.
Though moves might be made later in the season, the Chicago Cubs come into 2018 with a pretty set squad. In fact, at this point in time, there are no spots open on the 25-man roster.
Contrast that with a few years ago, and it shows just how far the Cubs have come.

As such, what will fans be able to look out for, especially in these first few weeks of Spring Training?
Obviously, these are just exhibition games with no importance attached to them other than getting ready for the season. As such, you won’t necessarily see the regular lineup all the time. And you won’t see pitchers throwing more normal innings until the end of March.
However, there are a few things Chicago Cubs fans can take note of that can give them a hint into how this season could go for this (hopefully) playoff-bound team.
