4. Craig Hodges wins three straight 3-point Contests

Funny story about this one, for those that don’t remember: Michael Jordan actually entered the 1990 3-point contest just to try it and hilariously stunk up the place with just five points.

That’s probably the only thing Jordan couldn’t dominate on All-Star Weekend.

But Hodges, his teammate with the Bulls at the time, represented just fine for the Windy City in this one.

Hodges actually matched up against Jordan in the first round and (obviously) obliterated him on his way to being crowned 1990’s 3-point champion.

As it turns out, he was just getting warmed up.

He went on a monster streak in the qualifying round in 1991, setting a record for most consecutive 3-pointers made in a competition (19) and nearly broke the record for a single round with 24-0f-30 points. He went on to beat Terry Porter in the finals.

In 1992, he eked out a 16-51 victory over Jim Les to secure his own personal three-peat in the competition.

In particular, his 1991 performance is up there with some of the best 3-point competitions ever, including recent performances from Stephen Curry, Klay Thompson and now Devin Booker.

That’s well worth a spot on this list as far as Chicago Bulls All-Star appearances go.
