#1. The Chicago White Sox sign free-agent outfielder Carlos Gonzalez to a one-year deal

There was a time when Carlos Gonzalez was considered one of the best outfielders in the MLB.

A three-time all-star and former National League batting champion, Gonzalez has slowly fallen off ever since his 40-home run 2015 season.

The former Colorado Rockies outfielder has garnered little interest in this year’s slow offseason. Gonzalez is bound to get a deal, but no team has shown substantial interest to this point.

At the age of 32, Gonzalez is an unlikely candidate for a multi-year deal. At this point, a major-league contract would probably be enough for Gonzalez. The Venezuelan hit .262 with 14 home runs in 2017, so he very well could have something left in the tank.

Eloy Jimenez, the White Sox top prospect, is at least a few months away from the big leagues. The White Sox could sign Gonzalez to a one-year deal and play him in center field next to Nicky Delmonico and Avisail Garcia,

Once Jimenez is ready, the White Sox could flip Gonzalez at the deadline for a prospect or two, given the fact that the contract is for just one year.

Melky Cabrera and Jose Bautista are other potential rental options for the Chicago White Sox. The starting outfield is currently projected to be Delmonico, Garcia and Adam Engel, so the White Sox could certainly use an outfielder.
