The Chicago White Sox officially start Spring Training in just a matter of days, as pitchers and catchers report on the 14th. Here are a few bold predictions for the upcoming month.

Baseball is back (almost).

The Chicago White Sox are back in action in less than a week, as pitchers and catchers report in a couple days.

Coming off of a 67-95 season, the White Sox have a lot to prove in 2018. The expectations remain generally low, but many believe that the South Siders can surprise people in 2018.

There’s plenty of reasons to be optimistic as a White Sox fan. Yoan Moncada, Reynaldo Lopez and Lucas Giolito are all entering their first full seasons on the South Side, and all showed huge signs of potential in 2017.

Core players like Jose Abreu, Avisail Garcia and Tim Anderson return after productive 2017 seasons, and new additions to the bullpen and backstop are cause for excitement.

Besides the aforementioned players, the Chicago White Sox roster has holes that need to be filled. Will they add another bat? Will another veteran starter be brought in? Or will the team stick with its current guys?

All of these questions will be answered before opening day in a little over a month and a half.

A young team with few proven veterans, the White Sox have several question marks. But as shown with the Chicago Cubs, the White Sox are on the right track. Progression this season would be huge, as some of the team’s top prospects are just months away from the big leagues.

Without further delay, here are four bold predictions for the Chicago White Sox spring training.
