Chicago Sky make it official, re-sign Allie Quigley
By Eric Brown
It may be the middle of the offseason for the WNBA, but free agency is in full force as the Chicago Sky have resigned Allie Quigley.
The WNBA season may be a few months away, but the teams are signing players during free agency in order to sure up their rotations. In a not so stunning move, the Chicago Sky have re-signed Allie Quigley.
Last season for the Sky, Quigley finished first on the team in scoring with 16.4 points a game, fifth on the team with 3 rebounds per game, and third on the squad in assists with 3.6 per game. Despite finishing in the top five in the traditional stat boxes, the numbers did not translate to the victory column for the Sky.

They finished just outside the playoffs in the ninth spot with a record of 12-22, three game behind the Seattle Storm.
Going into the 2018 season the Sky will be looking to return to the playoffs after missing last year, following a four year window in which they made the postseason every year.
Since Quigley joined the Sky before the 2013 season she has won the Sixth Woman of the Year award twice, finishing first in 2014 and 2015. The 31-year old has career averages of 8.8 points, 1.5 rebounds, and 1.6 assists.
Not only does she play for the Sky during the WNBA season, she also plays for Galatasasay in Turkey for the Women’s Eurobasketball league when the WNBA is not in session. She last played for Fenerbache in the Euro league, where she led them to SuperCup final after a second place finish.
Will the re-addition of Quigley be enough to put the Sky over the top in the 2018 WNBA season? Maybe Chicago can find their 2014 mojo, the year that they made it all the way to the WNBA Finals. We’ll find out once the regular season starts.
