Notre Dame football continues to hand out offers for the future of the team. This time handing out an offer to DeaMonte Trayanum, a linebacker from Akron, Ohio.

Currently the Irish are set at linebacker for the foreseeable future, as 5 of the ten linebackers on the roster are either a junior or senior. They have plenty of talent waiting in the wings, however they could have even more talent as they offered one of the top linebackers in the state of Ohio for the 2020 class, DeaMonte Trayanum.

In offering Trayanum, head coach Brian Kelly is stocking up his linebacker core for the future of the Irish football team. Currently for the 2020 team the linebackers will have

Jack Lamb

David Adams

Bo Bauer

Drew White

Ovie Oghoufo

More from Da Windy City

With only players currently on the roster that will be around for the 2020 team, the Irish need all they help they can get.

Standing at 5’11 and weighing 210 lbs, Trayanum could be a little undersized at the LB position. However given that he is still a sophomore he has two more seasons to reach his full potential.

During his sophomore season, Trayanum finished the year with 150 tackles and more than 20 tackles for loss. Along with his defensive ability, he also plays running back for Archbishop Hoban in Akron, Ohio. He ran 850 yards and 13 touchdowns as well.

Check out sophomore highlights from Trayanum below:

Next: Irish offer Paris Johnson Jr.

2017 was a comeback year for Brian Kelly and the rest of the Irish football team, and they will be looking to build upon that for the 2018 season. By the time DeaMonte comes to South Bend (if he does), Notre Dame could be a national title contender.
