Top 15 all-time batting averages: 7-3

7. Hack Wilson (.322)

Properly nicknamed Hack by fans teammates, Lewis Wilson played in the MLB from 1923-1934. Despite starting his career with the New York Giants(not the NFL team), Wilson played for the Cubs for six seasons. During those six years Hack would hit for a .322 average, I bet nobody knew back then he would become a top 10 Cubs hitter of all-time.

6. Bill Everitt (.323)

Despite a short seven year career, Bill Everitt will forever be known as one of the best Cubs hitters of all time. In the six seasons he spent in Chicago, Everitt arguably was the Cubs best player in each of those seasons, with his batting average reaching below .300 just twice in his career.

5. Kiki Cuyler (.325)

Back in the old days, a 17 year career in the MLB was actually considered short as the majority of players played for at least 20 seasons. Kiki Cuyler may not have reached the goal of 20, but he made it 17. In his 8 seasons with the Cubs he finished with a .325 average and 79 homeruns.

4. Bill Lange (.330)

Seriously, is anybody on this list going to be post 1950? It seems as if the Cubs greatest players came before they were even known as the Cubs, from when they were known as the Orphans.

3. Cap Anson (.331)

When it comes to Cubs best hitters ever, nobody will top Cap Anson. By the time he was finished he was Chicago’s leader in practically every hitting category, including hits which he had 3,012 of. Anson spent 22 years, yes, 22 long years with the Cubs back in the late 1800’s. In all likelihood no Cub will ever reach the numbers that Anson has, unless Kris Bryant can play for 20 seasons.
