After being ranked 3rd in the initial College Football Playoff’s, Notre Dame takes on Wake Forest this weekend. Check out the top 3 players to watch in the game.

We are now 8 weeks into the season, and Notre Dame has a record of 7-1. Nobody expected the Fighting Irish to do much of anything this season, plenty of analysts had Notre Dame having another let down season with Brian Kelly being fired. Not only has Kelly not been fired, but the team has had a complete turnaround from last season.

Last year, Deshone Kizer led the team to an underwhelming 4-8 record, the teams worst season in 9 years. Plenty of people within in the school were calling for Brian Kelly to be fired, but the Athletic Director decided to give him one more year to prove his worth. It is a good thing he did, as Notre Dame looks to be on the verge of making their first College Football Playoffs in school history.

Part of the reason that Notre Dame has been an exciting team is the play of Quarterback Brandon Wimbush, and running back Josh Adams. Unlike last season when Kizer threw interception after interception, Wimbush has looked calm in the pocket with a keen sense of awareness. Josh Adams looks like a legitimate Heisman candidate, breaking off 60 yard run after 60 yard run. As of this past week, Adams has put himself into the race, breaking into the top 5 for the coveted award.

A match up with the Demon Deacons of Wake Forest is no cake walk, Notre Dame must be sure to cover all angles in this game to avoid a major letdown. All time the Fighting Irish are 3-0 against the Deacons, including winning their last match up in 2013. This will likely be a win for Notre Dame, and a fun one at that. Check out our 3 players to watch.
