Halfway through the 2017-18 NFL season, the NFC North looks to be one of the most competitive down the stretch.

The NFC North in the first half of the 2017 season could be best described as a roller coaster- many ups and downs, twists and turns, and to this point, a completely unexpected outcome.

Eight weeks in with nine weeks to go, the NFC North has been and will continue to play out to be one of the most tightly-contested divisions in the NFL.

Four weeks in, the Green Bay Packers looked like the clear favorite for first place. At 3-1 with wins over the Seahawks and Falcons, the Packers looked every bit like last years’ NFC North champion.

Four weeks later, the Minnesota Vikings find themselves winners of 5 in a row and at 6-2, all of a sudden look like the clear favorite with a 2 game lead for first.

But there’s still a whole lot of football left to be played. Both the Lions and Bears have played better than expected, and will be a challenge for the Vikings to get by, especially if they continue to contend themselves.

These first eight weeks have been eventful and exciting, but the second half of the season is what defines it. All four teams have a somewhat legitimate shot at the division title for the first time in years.

This is going to be a fun second half.
