Jake Arrieta: In sports, everybody loves the sentimental moments that make them feel a certain emotion. There would be nothing more special than Jake Arrieta, the man who the Chicago Cubs traded practically nothing for (and at the time of the trade was awful), making potentially his final start for the Chicago Cubs in Game 4 at Wrigley Field.

As the end of the season approaches, the nervousness grows for Cubs fans who worry that come next season, the team could lost one of the main pitchers that lead them back to the glory days. That’s right, Jake Arrieta could possibly leave as he will certainly garner much attention and an even bigger contract from any willing team.

During the 2017 World Series, Arrieta was phenomenal and arguably deserved to win the World Series MVP. That is, until Ben Zobrist had the most memorable moment by a Cub, at least in the past 108 years, when he drove a double to the outfield in the top of the tenth to secure the victory. Pitching 11 1/3 innings, Arrieta won both games he started with 15 strikeouts. With the possibility of the Cubs being down 2-1 in the series when he takes the mound, there is no better pitcher to throw at there in a must-win game than Jake Arrieta.

Next: A potential playoff rotation for the Chicago Cubs

No matter what happens in this series, whether it be a win or a loss, as fans of the Chicago Cubs we must be proud of this team. If it is a win, we can look ahead to playing once again in the NLCS looking for a chance to repeat as pennant winners. Let’s all hope that is the case as the Cubs will be looking to win the World Series once again in 2017.
