The Chicago Bears have a good defense that is being wasted

Much was made about the new players that were added to the secondary this season. Quintin Demps,  Eddie Jackson, Marcus Cooper and Prince Amukamara were the new secondary players. While Amukamara has not been able to play,  Kyle Fuller has filled in nicely.

Akiem Hicks had two sacks last week and has become a truly dominant player. Also, the linebackers are still a strong unit, despite losing Jerrell Freeman to a pectoral injury in week 1.

The defense held the Bucs to a field goal on the first drive of the game, but they didn’t get to rest much since Glennon threw an interception on his first drive of the game.

In the end, the defense was on the field for 33 minutes, while the offense was on the field for 26 minutes. For a team that is lacking playmakers, especially with Glennon, this team needs to control the ball longer than their opponent, in order for them to grit out a win.

The defense cannot stay on the field the entire game, or else they will tire out. The offense needs to have long, sustained drives moving forward.
