Offense fails to rise to the level of the defense for the Chicago Bears in their 23-17 loss to the Atlanta Falcons.

Well everybody, welcome to the Mike Glennon-led offensive experience for the Chicago Bears. How does it feel?

On one hand, I suppose that it’s a vast departure to what we’ve seen for the past seven years or so with Jay Cutler. So far, everything about it looks safe and conservative. The Bears will lean on their running game to hide Glennon’s limitations (as much as possible). And when they throw the ball, they’ll do so with minimal risk, shying away from challenging defenses down the field.

And, just as with Brian Hoyer/Matt Barkley-led offenses from last year, the Bears will continue to not score enough points to win.

Different year, same stuff. How exciting.

Of course, for the optimists in the crowd, we got treated to the emergence of arguably the most exciting Bears player since Devin Hester in Tarik Cohen. As we all hoped, the Bears schemed for ways to get the ball in his hands all day. And based on what I saw, they should be doing that every single week from now until Cohen’s limbs fall off.
