Kevin White, wide receiver

The de-facto number one receiver for the Chicago Bears is Kevin White, which is kind of troubling. Considering he has only played four regular season games out of 32, it is tough to know what to expect from him.

However, the talent is there. He is a strong 6-foot-3 wide receiver with 4.35 (40-yard dash) speed. Have the injuries that he has sustained hampered his speed? That remains to be seen. Even with that looming question, White may be serviceable enough in fantasy due to the fact that he is a number one wide receiver, who is going to be targeted more often than not.

Glennon hardly threw in his direction in the first two preseason games. It was not until the third game against the Titans, in which White caught two passes for 30 yards, that the two showed any type of connection.

I believe that White is going to be at his best when he is running deep routes, where he can show off his speed (at least I hope he still has speed). Those deep passes may not happen until Trubisky is the starting quarterback. Although, he did look good on a “dig route” against the Titans, so maybe he can produce with Glennon.

White is projected for 6.3 fantasy points in standard leagues and 10.1 fantasy points in PPR leagues. Honestly, I would stay away from White this week if you have other options.

Atlanta Falcons cornerback Desmond Trufant will likely be shadowing him, and I want to see how White looks in real-game action. Even though I would not play White, he does still provide potential touchdown value. If he looks like a first round pick against the Falcons, then we should all be very happy about his fantasy football potential in 2017.
