The Chicago Bears should target these five players who did not make the recent 53-man roster cut of their specific teams.

Today is NFL cut day, and the Chicago Bears were among the teams who had to make many difficult decisions. Full disclosure: At the time this piece was written, the Bears had not officially named their 53-man roster. That being said, we have seen enough from reports to have an idea of what it will look like.

The Bears have some interesting young talent on their roster. However, they are not expected to be anything close to competitive in 2017. With Mike Glennon under center and an ugly host of weapons for him on the outside, the Bears are at least a year away from being competitors in the NFC North.

With that being the case, I would love to see Chicago use this waiver wire period to acquire some interesting young talent. The Bears have the snaps to go around at many positions and would be wise to use this opportunity to build some potential long-term options.

There are a lot of interesting names on the open market right now, and Ryan Pace and company need to be active. Here are the five specific players who stand out as obvious targets for the Chicago Bears.
