Five major takeaways from the Chicago Bears loss to the Browns
Questions answered in the secondary
While there are still questions regarding which safeties the Chicago Bears will keep on the active roster and on the practice squad, we are now clearer on certain aspects of the secondary.
Safety Eddie Jackson did not play in the game, which means that the fourth round pick is likely the starting safety alongside Quintin Demps. Adrian Amos did play in the game. While Amos has been the starter the past two seasons, he is yet to record an interception, which is likely a big reason why Jackson will start over him.
I really liked the value that Deiondre’ Hall brought to the team. He has the ability to play corner or safety, but all of that changed tonight after he got hurt.

Hall sent out this tweet, after the game. It is possible that his injury may be serious, which is a tough blow for him. However, this means that safety Deon Bush is likely safe on the 53-man roster. Also, I assume that Harold Jones-Quartey (unless his injury is serious) and Chris Prosinski both make the 53-man roster, barring any claims at the position by Ryan Pace.
At cornerback, Johnthan Banks was absolutely abysmal. On the first play of the game, he missed a tackle, after the receiver caught the ball against him. Then, he had a holding call on third down. To top it all off, he later gave up a 21-yard touchdown, in which he was absolutely torched by the Browns’ wide receiver. For a guy that did not play in last two preseason games, and needed a strong performance to even garner consideration for making the team, he looked terrible.
This means that Prince Amukamara, Marcus Cooper, Kyle Fuller, Bryce Callahan, Cre’Von LeBlanc and Sherrick McManis are all on the 53-man roster when the Chicago Bears play the Falcons.
