The Chicago Bears offense…played in Thursday’s preseason game against the Cleveland Browns. And a few players solidified their roster spots. That’s all we can say for certain.

Thank goodness that’s over. If I had to watch one more minute of bad Chicago Bears offense this preseason, I might’ve spontaneously combusted. Then again, I almost reached that point by watching the Bears’ fourth-quarter display of ineptitude. No wonder people around the league think the Bears could end up being a bottom-five team in the league…

On a night when we thought Mitch Trubisky might see meaningful reps as a starter, we got treated to “How to Waste and then Endanger Your Franchise Quarterback: 101” from John Fox and Dowell Loggains. Truthfully, I almost would rather redshirt Trubisky until Fox no longer coaches here. That way, he won’t have a chance to screw this up any further.

But then again, I guess we also answered a few roster questions on the offensive side. For one thing, Tarik Cohen, the scat back everyone thought would get broken in half, will be Jordan Howard‘s primary backup. Tanner Gentry will seemingly make the Bears’ roster as an undrafted free agent. And Jeremy Langford, left for dead a few weeks ago, should survive roster cuts this time around.

Everything else from this game can go jump into a fire.

But before it does, I guess I’ll deliver a few grades on these performances, as best I can.
