Derrick Nnadi (Defensive Tackle), Florida State

Derrick Nnadi is one of the strongest players in the nation. At 6-1, 312 pounds, Nnadi has played a big role in his first three years when it comes to stopping star SEC running backs. With the departure of Demarcus Walker, Nnadi is now the leader on the defensive front. Facing off against star running back Bo Scarborough, Nnadi will play a large role in the outcome of the game.

Along with dual-threat quarterback, Jalen Hurts, Scarborough and the number one recruit in the nation Najee Harris, Alabama has arguably the best running offense in the nation. Alabama’s offense thrives in the running game, and Nnadi will need to attempt to make the Tides running game ineffective and slow down the pace of play.

With six sacks last season, Nnadi also plays a big role in pressuring the quarterback. With a quarterback in Jalen Hurts who is not afraid to scramble out of the pocket, Nnadi will have many opportunities break free and sack Hurts.

Despite bigger needs elsewhere, Nnadi is a top target for the Chicago Bears in the upcoming draft. If the Bears decide to address the secondary in a different way, Nnadi will be an intriguing option for the Bears. Although the Chicago Bears defensive front is pretty solid for now, Nnadi would fit well in between experienced veterans such as Akeem Hicks and Eddie Goldman.

Like McFadden, Nnadi is a realistic option for where the Bears are expecting to be drafting. Nnadi is a much more under-the-radar prospect that could be available if the Chicago Bears want to trade into the second round or late first round. Bears fans should watch for Nnadi in the pass rushing game as well as the run stopping game, as he could very well be doing the same for the Bears at this time next year.
