The middle linebacker depth chart for the first three spots on the Chicago Bears roster appear to be set. Jerrell Freeman, Danny Trevathan and Nick Kwiatkoski are stone cold locks. However, the fourth spot is yet to be determined.

I believe that Christian Jones has played extremely well and should be the favorite to land that final inside linebacker position. Another strong performance by him will lock up his roster spot over guys like John Timu and Jonathan Anderson.

Christian Jones is an undrafted free agent who entered the league in 2014. He is a versatile player that can play both inside and outside, and I believe that versatility is why he has an inside track on making the opening day roster.

Not only is he versatile, but he has also played well. He just looks like a natural football player. This is evident on the following play.

You can clearly see the speed in which he attacks the hole. He is able to demonstrate the sideline to sideline speed that he possesses as he blows up the play for no gain.

I can not wait to watch Christian Jones play on Thursday against the Browns. He will more than likely start the game, so you can get a quick look at him. Jones’ defensive versatility and ability to make plays on special teams will help the Chicago Bears in 2017.
