Against the Titans, Mitchell Trubisky completed 10-of-15 passes for 128 yards and a touchdown. Trubisky had an amazing 45-yard touchdown pass to Tanner Gentry in the fourth quarter. He also flashed his mobility and poise once again. However, Trubisky was not perfect. He threw one pass that undoubtedly should have been an interception, but that is bound to happen with a rookie quarterback. I was very impressed with the play of Trubisky.
Of course, I want Mitchell Trubisky to light it up through the air, but there is something that I am really going to be looking for on Thursday. I thought that there were a few plays in which the play clock expired before the play started or was running down and they had to call a timeout. That simply cannot happen. Trubisky needs to get the Chicago Bears offense to the line of scrimmage and ready quicker and more efficiently.
I do not blame Trubisky for this, since he is not used to calling plays at the line of scrimmage or in the huddle. He is coming from a system in college where the he would look to the sideline, where the coaching would call the play from there. However, this is an obvious area of improvement needed for him.
Showing progress in this situation would be a major step in the right direction for Trubisky on Thursday.
