Five major takeaways from the Chicago Bears victory against the Tennessee Titans
Injuries begin to pile up
After the victory against the Tennessee Titans, the “next man up” mantra will be a phrase thrown around Halas Hall. The Chicago Bears were not able to overcome all of the injuries last season, but let’s hope that they have the depth to withstand them in 2017.
In the first quarter, Cameron Meredith left the game, with what appears to be a torn ACL. This is a brutal injury for Meredith, as I expected big things from him this year. He had a nice 28-yard diving catch in the first quarter, and not too long after that the injury happened.
Kevin White, who has a hard enough time staying healthy, will have to step up and become the number one receiver that he was drafted to be. Kendall Wright will also have to take on a larger role. Prince Amukamara also left the game with an injury, which does not sound too promising. Kyle Fuller may have to be a starter, which is crazy considering we debated whether or not he would get cut or traded.
Leonard Floyd also left the game with a foot injury. Losing Floyd would be a massive loss, but he appears to be fine. He should be perfectly ready to go for Week 1.
Hopefully, this is the end of the big injuries for the season, but with the Chicago Bears history, I doubt it will be.
