Who can the Chicago Bears target in the wide receiver trade market after the Cameron Meredith injury?

The Chicago Bears preseason game against the Tennessee Titans proved to be extremely costly. Injury after injury happened throughout this game with the Bears losing multiple key players. Among the most significant losses came in the first half when wide receiver Cameron Meredith suffered a major knee injury. It is not yet official, but Meredith appears to have suffered a torn ACL, which will hold him out of the entire 2017 season.

After catching 66 passes for 888 yards and four touchdowns last season, Meredith entered the season as the clear number one receiver on the Bears’ roster. Unfortunately, the Bears do not have a ton of depth at the wide receiver position, with guys like Kevin White, Kendall Wright, Victor Cruz and even undrafted rookie Tanner Gentry now having to step up.

However, the Bears could also look to attack the trade market for a Meredith replacement. With 53-man roster cuts right around the corner, there will undoubtedly be plenty of interesting receivers available via trade. That being said, should the Bears really spend draft capital to improve their current wide receiver situation? I mean, it’s not like anybody expects them to be major contenders in the NFC North this season.

On the other hand, the Bears now have a lot of opportunity available at the position. If they pinpoint a player who could help them both in 2017 and beyond, it could be worth making a commitment.

Here are five wide receivers who the Chicago Bears could target via trade to replace Cameron Meredith.
