Five Chicago Bears players to watch against the Tennessee Titans
Here are the five Chicago Bears you should be paying attention to in the third preseason game against the Tennessee Titans.
The Chicago Bears travel to Nashville this week to take on the Tennessee Titans on Sunday, August 27th. It is the third week of the NFL preseason, which is also known as the “dress rehearsal” for the regular season. The starting players will see the most action that they have seen, so far.
The Tennessee Titans are a team with high expectations. They have a young, franchise caliber quarterback, Marcus Mariota, who is protected by one of the best offensive lines in football, according to Pro Football Focus. The Titans, also, have a combination of physical running backs in DeMarco Murray and Derrick Henry.
I believe that they provide a good barometer for the Chicago Bears. Last season, in the third preseason game against the Kansas City Chiefs, the Chicago Bears struggled mightily. They lost the game 23-7, and the team looked apathetic. They only compiled 223 yards of offense, and the following play really summarized the entire season for the Chicago Bears.
The entire Kansas City Chiefs defense was in pass coverage in expectation of a hail mary, yet they were able to sack Jay Cutler on a three man rush. Yikes. The Kansas City Chiefs went 12-4, while the Chicago Bears went 3-13. Is that a coincidence?
Hopefully, the 2017 Chicago Bears come out ready to play this week against the Tennessee Titans. If they win the game and look strong then maybe the season can provide a glimmer of hope for these great Chicago Bears’ fans.
Let’s take a look at some of the players that look to do just that.
