Five major takeaways from the Chicago Bears win over the Arizona Cardinals
Mike Glennon still does not inspire confidence
Coming off an abysmal performance in the Chicago Bears first preseason game against the Denver Broncos, Glennon had to be eager to go out there and show why he can be a starter in this league. However, I don’t think he did much to change our minds.

Granted, he was better than his 0.0 passer rating last week, since he had a 78.24 rating against the Cardinals. Considering that Loggains tried to guide him through with safe passes, I still did not like what I saw.
He completed 13-of-18 passes for 89 yards, with a touchdown and an interception. That’s a whopping 6 yards per pass. Yikes.
After the game, Fox was asked about the safe passes that were called for Glennon, in which he said: “None of it’s safe, I just thought he improved.”
Glennon had the team in the red zone but was staring down his receiver when he threw the pass. Tyrann Mathieu read his eyes perfectly and intercepted it. John Fox “appreciated” his effort to tackle on his pick, however, which is something I have never heard a head coach say before.
I’m sure Glennon will start the first week of the season against the Atlanta Falcons, but his job past that point is in question.
