Tarik Cohen is legit

Jordan Howard did not travel with the team to Arizona, after suffering a corneal abrasion in practice. It remained to be seen who would start at running back in his place. Would the team opt for a more physical back like Ka’Deem Carey who can run similarly to Howard? Or would they insert smaller rookie Tarik Cohen immediately into the offense?

Well, those questions were answered when Cohen picked up 16 yards on the ground on the first offensive play. As a matter of fact, he juked right out of the grasp of Cardinals’ star defensive back Tyrann Mathieu to pick up a couple additional yards.

Cohen also had another run of 16 yards, as well as a 25-yard run. He finished the first half with 77 yards rushing on 11 carries.

For an offense limited by Mike Glennon and the unknowns at receiver, the offense could use as many playmakers as they can get. Cohen is electric. He has a chance to score every time the ball touches his hands.

He provides the lightning to Jordan Howard’s thunder. This is a combination that could give nightmares to defensive coordinators for many years to come.

It’s up to offensive coordinator Dowell Loggains to utilize him properly by putting him in situations to succeed. Cohen and Howard on the field together is something that I would not mind seeing.
